Jotunger: A Viking Feast, Drink & Musical Experience
Experience the critically acclaimed, immersive show from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe which transports you from Scandinavia to Scotland in the Viking Age through tantalising tales, tunes and taste experiences. Unveiling exciting insights into our connections, in a sensory landscape where Celtic and Nordic tonalities and flavours meet.
From Scandinavia to Scotland
Jotunger, one of the leading Danish historic bands, takes the stage clad in full Viking gear, and open a door to the past which echoes in the drink in your glass. With their ancient instruments, original compositions, familiar Viking songs, delightful banter and tales from the Sagas, they create an experience in which the symphony of music, carefully selected, curated drinks, and food inspired by the Viking Age, elevate each other to create an immersive experience you won’t soon forget.
You are skillfully guided through each drink by award-nominated whisky ambassador Christine Kammerer. Kammerer is one of the co-founders of the groundbreaking whisky experience Whisky & Witches, and a graduate of the OurWhisky Foundation Programme. Since 2022 she has toured Europe with her Musical Whisky Tastings. Beginning her career working for Diageo, and now collaborating with the Scotch Malt Whisky Society, distilleries, independent bottlers and festivals all across UK, Ireland, Scandinavia and Germany.
Jotunger is:
Christine Kammerer: vocals, lyre, percussion
HC Molbech: vocals, horn flutes, recorder, frame drum, lur

Reviews
“I’m born and bred in Edinburgh so I’m no stranger to a Fringe show. This is by far the best show I’ve ever seen. The charisma and knowledge (not to mention the musical talent) of the performers were off the chart.”
Andy Brack (Fringe Festival Audience Member, 2025)
“By far the best Fringe show we’ve experienced, and by that, I mean that it’s a well crafted experience. The food and mead were amazing, the music enchanting, the performers were each charismatic and showed a great passion for their craft. A 5 stars show that we cannot wait to get back to in future years!
Pierre (Fringe Festival Audience Member, 2025)
“What a fantastic experience! Deeply researched, beautifully performed, if you want a taste (literally!) of the interactions between early mediaeval Scandinavia and early mediaeval Scotland, from seafaring to music to food, you need to see this show.“
Missy Jones (Fringe Festival Audience Member, 2025)
“Beautiful early music along with food and drink from a Viking’s table. The show you didn’t know you needed to see – but you definitely do. Highly recommended.”
Hayley Griffin, (Fringe Festival Audience Member, 2025)
“Carefully selected food and drink, skillfully performed music, storytelling, information and hearts the size of Scandinavia pull you in. Time flies by and you leave with new perspectives, great respect for the past and understanding of the present. Get your arse to the hearthside, the world of Jotunger is waiting for you.”
Melanie Boyd (Fringe Festival Audience Member, 2025)
“The food and mead were paired perfectly to the evening and you could tell how much thought went into each course. The music left me spell-bound. Cannot recommend enough.”
Kat Hilliard (Fringe Festival Audience Member, 2025)
“What an experience! Outstanding music from the band themselves, with multiple instruments and languages. Charisma oozed from each member with every one of them sharing stories and knowledge, even going as far as to teach the audience Danish and Norn to join in during songs.“
Alana Mullen (Fringe Festival Audience Member, 2025)
“Jotunger’s show was more than we expected; their beautiful voices and ethereal music, combined with delicious food and more-ish mead, the laughter of coming together. I’d have sat for a very long time listening and learning from them all. A really fantastic evening, a show not to be missed on your Fringe repertoire!”
Abigail Korol (Fringe Festival Audience Member, 2025)
“This has genuinely been my favourite event of the fringe.”
James Diamond (Fringe Festival Audience Member, 2025)
